We are so very proud to announce that The Edward Marsh Centre’s Volunteers have just been awarded The King’s Award for Voluntary Service. This is the highest award a local voluntary group can receive in the UK and is equivalent to an MBE. The Centre provides an inspirational community space for leisure, sport and recreation and a home for volunteers both young and old who want to have a place to belong.

We are delighted that our group’s hard work has been recognised. Our wider team’s willingness to give their time and service has helped us save the centre and the recreation grounds from possible closure. Our opening of a community cafe at the Centre post COVID helped alleviate loneliness and brought our community together. Your support allows us to continue to fulfil our mission to see this Centre refurbished saving it for future generations. Our volunteers are proof that anything is possible as long as you have passion, drive, focus and the support of your community
